4 sessions every other week: Saturdays,  Feb 3., Feb. 17, Mar. 3 and Mar. 17, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Make and quilt 6 blocks over 8 weeks.  Quilt-as-you-go into a 53” quilt, OR create 6 mini projects. Piecing techniques include perfect hourglass blocks, snowball technique, fussy cutting, and ½ square triangles.  Quilting techniques include:   stitching in the ditch, using a walking foot, incorporating templates, utilizing golden threads papers, and “quilting-as-you-go.”

Supplies:

Blocks

  • 1 fq of 8 prints
  • ½ yd of 6 prints
  • 5/8 yd of 1 print

Sashing

  • ¾ yd

Binding

  • ½ yd (for the full quilt)
  • to be determined (for individual mini projects)

Backing

  • yardage depends on your choice of project/s and will be discussed in the first class.

    Cling or plastic guide for sewing across squares if you have one (clearly perfect angles)

    We will be talking about cutting techniques and alternative methods for some blocks in the first class.
