Life on the Farm

Oct 9, 2020New Fabric Line

Green Acres is the place to be. Farm livin’ is the life for me…

Where does bacon come from? Milk comes from WHERE? Why do chickens lay eggs? How many bushels of wheat, corn, soybeans per acre this harvest? When did lactose become a concern? What is the best cut of beef? Who knows this stuff anyway?

“On the Farm” by Stacy Iest Hue for Moda

Whether you’re a child or an adult, the idea of “farm” and “ranch” is as appealing and wholesome as apple pie. So this selection of fabrics, a tribute to those who feed us, ranges from youthfulness to certain wisdom encompassed in the playful collection of Stacy Iest Hsu, the more realistic collection of Christine Anderson, and the pastoral pieces of Gwendolyn Babbitt. Each of which is supported by chicken wire and burlap, of course.

“Farm Life” by Christine Anderson for Moda

Stacy Iest Hsu, designing for Moda, incorporates a sweetness to 7 designs in four different colorways. Christine Anderson, also for Moda, evokes images (and memories) of huge white clapboard farmhouses with porches, buxom grandmas in aprons, and the smell of bread baking.

“Down on the Farm” by Gwendolyn Babbitt for Robert Kaufman

The few pieces of Gwendolyn Babbitt ( for Robert Kaufman) transport us to lazy Sunday afternoons, or for the very imaginative, to an art exhibition of Jean-Francois Millet.

A few options of patterns that would look cute with these farm fabrics.

This is “On the Farm” collection of Stacy Iest Hsu in Doug Leko’s pattern “Crown & Anchor.”
